It was not the The North Star.
The Three wise men are from a place east if Jerusalem. Jesus was born in Bethlehem, 2 wise men arrived, and then Jesus traveled north to Nazareth. The Star (Also know as the Star of Bethlehem) that the 3 wise men followed apparently was moving and was only visible to some people and for a short time. This star was probably Sirius Star or some unrecorded supernova or possibly even a comet.
In the first place, The Bible doesn't tell us the number of wise men. The Bible says they followed a star. This could have been a comet or other type of celestial body, since the Bible isn't very specific about EXACTLY what it was.
The word for them is "Magoi", the Magi (as we call them, and there were probably many more then just three) had in centuries past been placed uder the leadership of Daniel and being aware of his teachings knew the end pf the 69 weeks of years (Daniel 9) was upon them (thus King Messiah was about to be born) plus they were from the same area as Balaam (who we have Archaeologically demonstrated) who gave the prophecy about the Star signalling the birth of this true King who was God manifest...the work it describes happened over time but they were more interested in seeing Him
According to the bible, it was a star.
Star of bethlehem
jesuses birth
It won't ever be truly proven.
the star
The three wise men did not use magic. They depended on their intuition, their eyes were opened to see the star and were guided by this.
The wise men, also known as the Magi, traveled from afar to find Jesus. They followed a star, known as the Star of Bethlehem, which guided them to the place where Jesus was born.
According to biblical text - they were 'led' by a star.
The north star. COMMENT: The star that guided the wise men to Jesus was a special star. It appeared in the East and moved toward Israel. The wise men followed it to Jerusalem and after being told by Herod the Great that the new born King was to be born in Bethlehem the wise men left and "Behold" the star moved over the place where Jesus was Born. (Bethlehem). Regular stars do not do this. This star was HIS star.
Yes, according to the Bible, a star guided the three wise men to the location of Jesus' birth in a manger.
The magi are referred to as the three wise men and they traveled to find Jesus Christ our savior. God guided them by the Northern star.
The star on top of a Christmas Tree represents the Star of Bethlehem which guided the shepherds and the three wise men to the stable and baby Jesus.
If you are referring to The Holy Bible , the 'people' are the three wise men from far east. A bright star guided them all the way to the stable where baby Jesus was conceived. Those wise men were probably good in astronomy. They claimed " a new star is born" i.e, baby Jesus.
No the three wise men was the only ones
