First make sure it isn't supposed to be doing that, if it isnt overflowing it is most likely a feature. Water is recirculated and passed through a filter to keep it cleaner, many machines will have a flow during the wash cycle. If this is not the case, and the behavior is new your fill valve is probably bad, it is a solenoid operated mix valve that adds water at the desired temperature. Usually two valves, one for hot and one for cold, if you can either shut off the hot or cold supply and stop the flow then it will tell you which is bad.
