if the compressor is Running you are low on freon, if its not then you have a electrical problem

There are three main possible causes to explain why a car air conditioner is blowing hot air. These causes are a worn out compressor, refrigerant leak, and an electrical problem.

Blower motor working? Could be bad vacuum motor or connection could be plugged evaporator

Answerthe connection for the hose is right on the compressor i have an 01 ls and i had to jack the car up and its on the compressor itselfthe compressor is on the driver side of the car and you have to jack up the car if your ac is full and its not blowing cold air check your high pressure switch. follow the line from the compressor it should be in the front on top

User Avatar

it shouldn't stop blowing, but the compressor will shut off momentarily while you accelerate to get slightly more horsepower than it would with the compressor running

Compressor may be locked up.

Spike in electrical system look for loose ground wire or loose connection that is building excessive resistance (heat)

Usually compressor not running or low on refrigerant. And yes it is supposed to be warm

You may have a bad compressor clutch coil, you need to check the coil and work from there................

User Avatar

Disconnect the electrical connection at the blower fan motor, put a new fuse back in and see if the truck starts and runs without blowing the fuse. If so replace the blower fan motor. If the fuse still blows, disconnect the ac clutch wire from the ac compressor and try again.

smelled electrical burn now central air is blowing warm air non stop

Your compressor is not working. Through evaporation compressors cool the evaporator coil and the fan blows air across it. So if the fan is blowing hot air the compressor is not cooling the coil. But check to see if the dial inside the fridge is turned to "more cold" , that turns the compressor on.

User Avatar

the compressor is not running. Check your breakers.

User Avatar

The compressor is so hot b/c there are fans inside that push the hot air out of the refrigerator. No cold air is blowing out b/c the cold air is going into the fridge.

User Avatar

More than likely the a/c compressor is bad. The compressor clutch could be shorted also.

User Avatar

The compressor is coming on because you have the heater set to defrost. Take it off defrost and the compressor will not come on. I would suspect the compressor is locked up.

User Avatar

Chances are the compressor is not running. It could be a number of causes: * Compressor is not getting power due to a bad connection * Some AC units have a fan only setting. The switch may have failed and it is stuck in fan mode * The compressor is toasted. * There is a coolant leak and the compressor has shut off to protect itself. You can check for electrical problems yourself, if you are comfterable with electical systems it could be an easy fix. If you do track it down to the compressor, you may want to call a professional. Modern compressors are usually sealed & soldered in. Probably nut much fun to fix...

Clutch possibly not engaged compressor maybe.

User Avatar

This could possibly mean that the electrical connection for the blower is shorted or grounded or the on/off switch has lost contact. Have this checked with a car electrician.

User Avatar

Look to see if the compressor is running when the ac is on. If not, then check the Freon pressure, as the compressor won't run if the Freon is low.

User Avatar

low on refrigerant or the compressor isn't running..
