Follow the upper radiator hose to the engine. Where it connects to the engine is normally the location of the thermostat housing. THAT IS NOT CORRECT. I LEARNED THIS BY EXPERIENCE. IT IS UNDERNEATH THE ENGINE AT THE WATER PUMP. I AM STILL WORKIN ON MINE SO NOT EVEN SURE YET THE BEST WAY TO REPLACE IT, BUT DONT WASTE YOUR TIME LIKE I DID TAKING APART THE HOUSING NEXT TO THE Power Steering PUMP

No, you will not have to drain all the coolant to change the thermostat on a 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan. Only the hose that is connected to the thermostat needs to be drained.
