A computer technician is one whose line of expertise deal more with reparing and maintining computers as well as servers...
There are community colleges that offer an associate in applied science (AAS) degree in this area. Typically, referred to as electromechanical technology.
A degree for computer repair? I didn't know there were any. I can tell you that if you spend the money to get a degree to fix computers, you wasted your money. I learned by reading books and practicing hands on. A class will never give you real world training. Fix computers for family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, and put that on your resume. That is real experience. Don't waste your money on a degree. Seriously. I've been fixing computers since 1994 and worked professionally in the industry (no longer fixing them though) since 1998, I don't have a degree, and I'm now working Tier 3 jobs. Employers want experience. I've had several hiring managers tell me they want experience over a degree.
