sets up a few traps to hinder his capture. There is the "Maylay man catcher", "the Burmese tiger pit" ( I love these names!), and some other tree spring thing. Rainsford tries to scatter his tracks, hides in a tree and he also jumps into the ocean. He is a good swimmer (he is more or less perfect) and swims back to the castle. Zaroff's dogs don't pick up the scent because Rainsford is in the water. I think Rainsford hides in Zaroff's bedroom closet or something when Zaroff returns. That wasn't a trick though, it was just creepy
1. he makes a malay man catcher and this is a fail
2. he makes a burmese tiger trap and this kills one of zaroffs best dogs
3. he wrap a knife attached to a vine around a tree and this kills ivan
Rainsford killed Zaroff in the general's bedroom after swimming back around the island; Zaroff assumed he had jumped onto the rocks and drowned. Though it is not stated exactly what happens, the implication is that Rainsford kills Zaroff with his bare hands, or perhaps with Zaroff's own knife.
Zaroff suggested that the loser would be fed to the hounds, but this is never confirmed either.

Rainsford is a famous American hunter and author of books about hunting. Zaroff also shares the love of hunting but he enjoys hunting human beings the most. Zaroff has fine clothes", and the "singularly handsome features of an aristocrat". Zaroff speaks very well, showing that he has been educated and refined. Both men enjoy; nice rooms, hunting big game, are same built, and much more. Rainsford is horrified when he first learns of what Zaroff is doing and realizes that hunting humans is just a game for Zaroff.
The resolution is that Zaroff, the hunter, is the victim when his prey, Rainsford, turns the tables and surprises him in his own bedroom.
Rainsford apparently dies in a plunge from a cliff into the sea, but is waiting for the general in his bedroom. Rainsford invokes the law of the jungle, where only one can survive, and it is not Zaroff.

Rainsford turns the tables on General Zaroff by using his skills as a hunter to outsmart him in a final confrontation, resulting in Rainsfordβs escape.
Rainsford must outwit Zaroff in a deadly game of cat and mouse on Ship-Trap Island. He uses his survival skills and cunning to turn the tables on Zaroff and ultimately defeat him in their final confrontation. This allows Rainsford to escape and survive the hunt.
The main characters in "The Most Dangerous Game" are Sanger Rainsford, a skilled hunter who becomes the prey, and General Zaroff, a Russian aristocrat who hunts humans for sport on his private island. Rainsford must outwit Zaroff in a deadly game of survival.
