there are 13 moons surrounding the planet neptune
and they are called triton (biggest moon), psamathe, nereid, sao, naiaid, neso, halimede, laomedeia, despina, proteus, larissa, thalassa, And galatea :)
It was once proposed that Pluto used to be a moon of Neptune. Closer analysis of the orbital mechanics show that this is not possible. Instead, Pluto is the largest known member of the Kuiper Belt.
Neptune has 14 known moons as of June 2014. The moons are named Triton, Halimede, Sao, Nereid, Laomedeia, Neso, Psamathe, Despina, Galatea, Naiad, Thalassa, Larissa, Proteus and S/2004 N 1.

Neptune has 13 moons, they are: (In order from Neptune) Naiad Thalassa Despina Galatea Larissa Proteus Triton Nereid Halimede Sao Laomedeia Psamathe Neso
Pluto, now called a dwarf planet.
Triton is Neptunes largest moon.
Pluto
IS A PLANET FILLED WITH DIAMONDS
Triton is the largest moon of the planet Neptune. It is similar in composition and size to Pluto (even a little larger), so is thought to have been a Kuiper belt object that was 'captured' by Neptune many years ago.Triton is the largest moon of the planet Neptune.Triton orbits Neptune, and is the planet's largest moon.
* Uranus is the second most distant from Earth. Neptune is the farthest. * NEPTUNE is the second farthest planet from both Earth and the Sun. PLUTO is the most distant.
The planet Neptune had a great dark spot. It soon vanished after discovery, leading astronomers to believe it was just a temporary storm, unlike the Great Red Spot on Jupiter which has been raging for hundreds of years. See the related link for more information.
None - but there was an old theory that Pluto MIGHT have been a moon of Neptune. (It shows up in old science fiction stories [see Larry Nevin]).
There are no planets in our solar system with exactly 8 moons. Mercury-0 Venus-0 Earth-1 Mars-2 Jupiter-63 Saturn- at least 61 Uranus-27 Neptune-13 Pluto has been downgraded in class from a major planet to a minor planet. It has 3 moons.
Neptune has been the name of the planet since Roman times.
There are no moons ON Neptune, moons orbit a planet, they do not sit on it.Orbiting Neptune, however, 13 moons have been discovered so far. They are:NaiadThalassaDespinaGalateaLarisaaProteusTritonNereidHalimedeSaoLaomedeiaPsamatheNeso
It orbits Neptune in the opposite direction of Neptune's rotation.

the problem is that Neptune is a way to cold place to check anything out . it is -235 degrees and it is a water planet so no one would be able to research on the planet or even Set foot on it , also Neptune is a gas planet so you wouldn't be able to even breath there
Neptune has always been the farthest planet, but we didn't always know that. On August 24, 2006, when the International Astronomical Union (IAU) defined what it means to be a "planet", Neptune earned it's badge as the most distant (from the sun) planet in our solar system. Prior to that, when Pluto was referred to as a planet, it last crossed inside of Neptune's orbit on February 7, 1979 leaving Neptune as the most distant planet until February 11, 1999. Pluto's orbit crosses inside of Neptune's orbit for 20 years out of every 248.
No. Nobody has ever been to Neptune. Also, Neptune is a gas planet. There is no solid surface to dig a hole in.
Scientists have evidence of and say that a new Neptune sized planet lurks beyond the edge of our solar system. There has been no visual sighting of this planet. However it is probably so far out it will be very difficult to find given present technologies.
You are gravely mistaken. Neptune is not a hot planet and it never has been. Neptune is so far from the sun that the planet and its atmosphere are absolutely freezing. The average temperature of Neptune is −218 °C (55.1 K).
The planet Neptune has been explored by only one explorer, Voyager 2. Launch date - 20 August 1977 Reached Neptune - 25 August 1989
Neptune has an average temperature of -200C, making it the coldest planet in the solar system (at least now that Pluto has been demoted from planetary status).
no because its far away
