No. He was pulled out of school by his father, sent to work for his brother, travelled to Pennsylvania, and I think you know what happened from there. He was a Founding Father, but never in the military.

He was in France trying to get money and troops for the war. He was also in his 70's at the time and too old to fight. He also had gout and had problems moving around.
