No there was not such a huge age gap between Boaz and Ruth. There could have been 20 years at the most between them.
The Bible does not say, but because this marriage of Ruth and Boaz was blessed by God and their grandson David was a man after God's own heart, I think it can be safely assumed that Boaz died at a ripe old age.
Ruth was an ancestor of David and Jesus. The story of Ruth, told in the Book of Ruth, is one of the great love stories in the Bible. Ruth was a poor widow from the land of Moab whose husband had been an Israelite. When her mother-in-law, Naomi, decided to return to Israel, she encouraged Ruth to stay in Moab. But Ruth responded, "Whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God." When they arrived in Naomi's hometown, Ruth went to the fields of Boaz, a wealthy relative of her late husband's. There she collected stalks of grain that the harvesters dropped. Because of Ruth's generosity to her mother-in-law, Boaz instructed his workers to drop grain on purpose so Ruth could pick up enough. At the end, Boaz marries Ruth. Their great grandson was David, the great king of Israel.
Ruth
As far as we know from the Bible record yes. There is no record of him having a wife before. In the light of comments he made to Ruth, it appears that he never did get married before and that also he was considerably older than she, the implication being that before too many years she would be caring for an old man. The kinsman of Elimelech, being requested by Boaz to marry Ruth, said, "I can not redeem; for I have a wife and have no right to take another in addition to her, lest she be a disturbance in my house and destroy my peace. Redeem thou; for thou hast no wife."
Judges is the book that comes before the Book of Ruth in the Christian Old Testament. The Hebrew Bible is organized differently; there, the Song of Songs comes before the Book of Ruth.
Boaz is the grandfather of Jesse ( Yishai, king David's father ). See the fourth chapter of Ruth.
