God Only knows. it is known she was never married. she did have many men of the Court- Nobles so to speak ( Raleigh, Sir Essex) whom she was certainly more than merely friendly with for services to the Crown. The phrase Virgin Queen was in currency, and even the state of Virginia derives its name from this. it is perhaps fitting she died on Lady Day ( March 25,) in l603 which is the Annunciation, a minor church holiday honoring the Blessed Virgin- St. Mary. By the Way the un-numbered Consort Queen Mary ( namesake of the ocean liner) also died on March 25, of l953.

Far as we know, yes. No one's ever found any proof otherwise.

It's not for sure, but probably not. She was courted by many men. If heredity has anything to do with it, she had exceptionally passionate parents and most likely did something with one of her courtiers. Most likely, Robert Dudley.

Although some say Katherine Parr's last husband raped Elizabeth and caused her to get pregnant at the age of fourteen but she miscarried at 4 months

"It is said that she was a virgin because she never married. Is that a very accurate assumtion, no.

Elizabeth Tudor I doubt very much was a virgin. By all accounts she was in her youth, beautiful, hot blooded and very attracted to handsome athletic men. I think she was fourteen years old when she lost her virginity most probably to Thomas Seymour this is just my assumption. But perhaps she was so deeply in love with Thomas Seymour that she for the first time ever gave her body and virginity to the man she loved and trusted and perhaps she did fall pregnant and that was what Queen Catherine had heard the two of them discussing and sent the fifteen year old princess away. She couldn't say anything to the council otherwise she herself would be blamed for allowing her protégé to be violated by her husband. Also what I asked myself is Princess Elizabeth's monthly courses were always on time why did her period cease merely weeks after Catherine had the princess sent away. And why was Thomas so adamant that he should get rid of Catherine and marry Elizabeth? I believe that he may well have poisoned Catherine. I mean she merely bore him a useless baby girl. Elizabeth strong, healthy and fertile was with child and could easily give him a strong, healthy and lusty son and above all that child would be the third heir to the throne after Mary and Elizabeth and neither Edward nor Mary was healthy. It was said that Edward was impotent and Mary barren. So when he was beheaded for high treason that could have physiologically damaged her. I mean she would have been heavily pregnant and the child fatherless and she wouldn't have been able to call the top physicians or wet nurses since it would have been top secret. So that could have damaged her or perhaps since she was just fourteen when she was penetrated by a forty year old man it could have stop her from having children. For Thomas was known to be forceful and virile and would have defiantly wished to prove to the princess that he was strong, masculine and virile. I hope that helped"

I would say she indeed stayed a virgin until her death. I think we have to look at the whole matter in a psychological way. During her youth, Elizabeth witnessed how much sorrow men could bring to women, mainly of course her father, Henry VIII., who beheaded two of his six wives, including Anne Boleyn, Elizabeth's mother, and got rid of almost the other ones in a rather ungentlemanly way. This all must have had a huge impact on the girl, making it clear to her that she would be better off when not getting married to or starting a sexual affair with any man. She simply did not want to be at the mercy of any man.

Concerning Thomas Seymour, I would rather say he would have liked to have a sexual affair with the young Elizabeth, he constantly pestered her, but the young girl, still being in her early teens, must have been appalled by his advances, a man of approximately forty years. To some extent she might also have been flattered by his advances, but then at a certain point she realised that he wanted more than just courting her. She did not have enough experience in life to distinguish between harmless courting and sexual advances. Maybe Catherine Parr even sent her away for her own protection. The whole case was investigated already in 1549, and there were no proofs of Elizabeth having had an affair with Thomas Seymour.

When being a queen, she had minions at her court, she became jealous when they got married or were said to have sexual affairs, and she liked flirting with them. It seems that she even had been in love with Robert Dudley, but that's not the same as having sexual relations with a man. All the evidence suggests that she really was "The Virgin Queen" that she claimed to be.

Because she was, reputedly, a virgin.

*she wasn't a virgin, she was called that because she choose to not marry.
Because she remained a virgin all her life and never had children.

She never married and never had any children.

That is what she was nicknamed because she was not married. But, many believe that she did have lovers.
