No, Osama bin Laden has not been in the US since 1979. He was killed May 1, 2011 when U.S. soldiers told him to surrender. When he didn't, they neutralized his threat. In observance of, and respect toward Muslim tradition, he was given a burial at sea.

No, but he practically started it all with the attack of 9/11/01. He was involved, but not actually in it or fighting. He was most likely hiding the whole time, and still is now.

9/11 actually had almost no significance to the start of the Iraq War though the US claims 9/11 a reason to start the war. The Iraq war was started because Iraq would not let the UN inspect the country for weapons of mass destruction, we wanted to oust Hussein since he tortured his people, and we wanted oil. 9/11 had almost nothing to do with Iraq since osama bin laden and the hijackers were Islam extremists and from Saudi Arabia, eqypt and Lebanon. I know... It's weird.
