The colonists thought they were justified in dumping the tea, because the English were charging high taxes for it but the English didn't think they were justified obviously because they wanted more money from the taxes.

Yes and no. No, there was no law preventing people from dumping tea into Boston harbour, however, the tea didn't belong to the colonists and still was the property of the British merchants. So yes, it was theft of the tea and deliberate destruction of private property, so it was illegal, but not because of any legislation preventing the dumping of tea in the harbour but because they stole and destroyed the tea which didn't belong to them.

What is it when colonists dumped tea into Boston Harbor to protest the Tea Act?

The Boston Tea Party - was a politically motivated protest by colonists in Boston against the British government on December 16, 1773. The Tea Act, passed by the British Parliament in 1773 reduced the tax on tea shipped to the colonies, and the colonists didn't want to be under the British rule anymore, so the dumping of the taxed tea in Boston harbour was there protest against the British Empire, which eventually led to the American War of Independence.Dont forget they dressed up like indians!! Was the Boston tea party a turning point in the relationship between the british and the colonists?

The Boston tea party served notice on the British that the American colonists were fed up with the continually increasing number of commodities that the British were levying taxes on. The British required the colonists to buy many things from them, the British. The Americans had been happy to bypass buying tea from the British, and instead bought tea from various American smugglers at a very lower cost. The British finally caught on to this and blocked the smugglers' ships, forcing the colonists to again purchase from the British. It didn't take long for the Sons of Liberty to set up a protest, posing as Huron Indians . . . this was the Boston tea party, which involved dumping bales of British tea into Boston Harbor.

First, it is worth noting that the "Coercive Acts" were what England and the British monarchy called the laws meant to punish the American colonists. The harbor in question was Boston Harbor, and the colonists defied the British government by dumping a large quantity of tea into the harbor as a protest.
