No it wasn't. It was created by people to show that they want child abuse to stop; It was to show national support against child abuse. The claims that it was created by pedophiles is ridiculous. Children under the age of 13 are not supposed to use facebook, granted this is not a foolproof prevention method to keep children off the site. They are other measures in place to protect peoples identities in the privacy settings of facebook. You can change you privacy settings so only your friends could see your profile picture. Honestly, if you think about what would a child predators really get from pictures of Cartoons? The idea that accepting someones friends request solely on their profile picture being of a cartoon character is the stupidest thing I've heard! If we all changed our pictures to those of cartoons characters and kept out dates of birth private, there would be no indiscernible way to tell our ages. This rumor was most likely started by some bored person who wanted to see how many people they could get to believe pedophiles are on facebook looking for pictures of cartoon characters. There was no TV. or news report proving this rumor to be true. It is a hoax. Keep your cartoon profile picture to show you are against child abuse, I am.
