When I first contacted Ray, prior to the release of this movie, he was giving interviews explaining that it was a concocted story, that it was in no way true. Not entirely. It was 'based on a true story' and it was 'dramatized' meaning altered to make it a better story.
This and another movie ("A Haunting in Connecticut" in 2002) were based on events that were reported by the Snedeker family. There have been numerous other similar stories.
