Witchcrafy comes from Ancient Shamanism. Shamans lived with the nature and worked with the forces of nature. They are believed to be able to manifest needed change and heal the sick. Later Shamanism developed and later labeled as Witchcraft. It is the mistery of the forces of nature that made people believe in natural forces.

Yes and no. Witchcraft was used to explain the world and a part of society, but in cases like the Salem witch trials it was used to acquire land and persecute people who were "different " and seen as outsiders. The supernatural for centuries was a part of life for all cultures and to some extent it still is today.

Does witchcraft really exist?

Yes witchcraft does exist. It is one of many spiritual paths available. Finding someone to teach you should be done locally. You need to be able to sit down with your mentor, talk to him or her and watch what they do. Much of what we do is as much in the gestures, movements and physicality as it is in the words, herbs and spells.
