1 the weatherstripping around the door has gone bad and is letting rain in
2 it is cold out and your heater core is leaking ( coolant not water unless that is what you have in your radiator )
3 it is hot out and your air conditioning drain tube is clogged
i have the same problem, i am thinking it might be the water pump?
Is it water or anti-freeze? If its anti-freeze your heater core is leaking which is usually a costly repair. If its water its probably a problem with the body drain. Seems to be a on going problem with some Mercedes models even S class. ---------- Is the water leaking from the passenger's side? If so, the water would most probably be coming from the heat blower motor area, it is under the gloves compartment. This usually happens when the drainage pipes (under the hood in front of the windshield) get clogged by tree leaves, and rain starts to build up on them. It is a common problem in Benz cars.
By chance, did you use sealant when you put the new gasket on? If not, there is your problem.
it is possible to get a small amount of seeping from the hole and not have a problem, if the water is dripping or running from the bleed hole then the pump needs to be replaced as a unit, they are generaly sealed units and the water my be seeping past the shaft because of shaft wear and not seal wear.
your water pump is leaking and traveling down to the cover. Water pump needs replacement.
when i pull up to a red light my montero sport jumps alittle, it doesnt do it all the time and i am not leaking trans fluid. What could be the problem?
I am having the same problem with my 2000 LS V6. Had someone tell me it was the transmission but after putting thru diagnostics it shows the a couple of the coil packs miss firing. This seems to be a regular problem with Ford in general. On the V8 LS motors the valve covers have a problem leaking and shorting the coil packs. I have NOT changed mine yet,the driver side are easy to get to but the passenger side are under the intake manifold and it has to be removed before accsessing. Not sure this will take care of your problem but worth checking out.
No problem here.
You can tell for sure if its water or oil be dropping a bit in a glass of water if it desolves it water oil wont
Cylinder head gasket leaking between waterjacket and cylinder. check for large quantity of water/steam coming from exhaust.
I just went through this problem with my 2004 Grand Vitara. It was in the shop for 2 months before they figured it out. The problem turned out to be the AC was leaking inside of the car and water was pouring down on the computer module. Once the computer module was shorted out it would dump gas into the number 3 piston. Hope this helps.
you might have a leaking vaccum hose
