As your school captain, I pledge to show respect and mutual understanding to every student and member of the faculty, uphold the name and valued traditions of our school, and strive for academic excellence. Working together we will make our school proud.
Good morning /afternoon.... MR Gammage , teachers and my fellow students I stand here before you to discuss the reason why I want to be part of the leadership team and hopefully become school captain for the following year (2011).
I realise that it's a privilege to have the honour but I am confident that I will be a suitable contestant. I promise to work hard to be the effective leader that you would be proud of. I will try to uphold and obey the six rules and become the role model that you can all look up to. I will assist teachers and students in any way possible to the best of my abilities. I will always try to be respectful, responsible, honest, trustworthy and reliable. I will always try to treat everyone equally and aim to live in harmony with one another. I would always take my responsibilities very seriously and always with a smile.
The job of a captain is not just about a badge or having the power to present assemblies or a board that has your name written on it but an opportunity to display your pride in your school especially of your teachers and fellow students. This job demands time, effort, enthusiasm and most of all the ability to lead. I believe I possess all these qualities and if not I am more than willing to learn them in the process. I promise to dedicate myself to serving the school and especially you, my fellow students. So please vote for me and show your trust in me and I promise I won't let you down. Thank you for listening to my speech and remember its N for Nadia.

Thank you.
Well, I'm in grade 5 and ready to present my speech on Wednesday. To be honest, I think mines pretty good, here are some tips:
-Open with a bit of joke or question to capture attention
-Always speak the truth and not fibs
-list as many necessary qualities as possible
-end with a motto, something to remember
-don't speak quickly, speak clearly and fluently
-do not include words that you cannot read
-don't abbreviate and speak seriously
-list your inside of school achievements for instance cross country
-don't be stiff
I would start by thanking (whoever) for the privilege they bestowed on you that warranted the speech first, then perhaps a quick joke. If it is a long speech, you may want to add another joke or two throughout the speech.
I myself am not school captain. Talk loudly when presenting and be confident. Put some personality into the speech.
Make one up. That's your job. We're not here to write your speech for you, you stupid bastard. God, people like you make me SICK.
Make your speech stand out by using expression in your voice. Smile and look up (eye contact). Have some enthusiasm and be confident.
