Therefor, certified organic coconut oil comes from coconut trees grown without the use of the chemicals listed above. However, it can still be extracted or processed with heat over 118 degrees and be certified organic. On the other hand, raw coconut oil may be from trees grown with the use of chemicals, but it cannot be heated over approximately 118 degrees.
There are brands of coconut oil that are both raw and certified organic. If you are looking into coconut oil, I would recommend looking for such a brand.
