the ww1 trenches had a terrible effect on soldiers there was trench foot caused by the cold and wet and trench fever both very serios and no one ever got enough food or clean clothes it must have been terrible They drove them daft.

∙ 13y agoA lot of soldiers suffered from what is called 'shell shock' (psychiatric disturbances), shell shock included shaking, paralysis, delusions, hysterical laughter etc.
Also many soldiers committed suicide, during war and post war. Most cases of suicide during war were undocumented unless by friends in their personal war diaries.

∙ 12y agoThe use of trenches in World War I, made war last longer then it could've been. Trenches were a hard obstacle to overcome and required much time that's why war lasted longer.
