What is foaming capacity of detergents?

The foaming capacity of a soap or detergent refers to the amount
of foam that can be produced by agitating soap in a container
filled with an equal amount of distilled water. After being shaken
well, the solution is allowed to sit still and settle. The longer
it takes for the foam to dissolve, the greater is its foaming
capacity.

What is the foaming capacity of soaps and the effect of addition of sodium carbonate on their foaming capacity?

introduction of foaming capacity of soap :- soaps samples of
various brands are taken and their foaming capacity is noticed.
Various soap samples are taken separately and their foaming
capacity is observed. The soap with the maximum foaming capacity is
thus, said to be having the best cleaning capacity. The test
requires to be done with distilled water as well as with tap water.
The test of soap on distilled water gives the actual strength of
soaps cleaning capacity. The second test with tap water tests the
effect of Ca++ and Mg++ salts on their foaming capacities.
Effect of adding of sodium carbonate on soap :- adding sodium
carbonate to soap can affect the activity of the soap in different
manners in presence of different types of water. For example on
case of hard water it will precipitate calcium carbonate and hence,
activity of soap will improve. But in presence of fresh water it
will reduce the inter-facial tension but bubbles of soap will not
be formed. In presence of saline water addition of sodium carbonate
may increase pH resulting in scale formation of calcium carbonate.
However, in general the foaming capacity of detergents is not
affected to a very large extent by addition of sodium
carbonate.

How do you make foaming soap?

Foaming soap dispensers were invented about 15 years ago by a
Dutch company called Airspray. The best way for consumers to get a
foaming soap dispenser is to buy one at a retail store. Some empty
foamers are sold, but most come with soap already in them. My
personal favorite in the US are the foamers from a company called
Method. Their foamers are available for $3-4 from most Target
stores. The solution for foaming soap is far more dilute than
regular liquid soaps. If you start with a solution 10% liquid soap
and 90% distilled water, you will be pretty close. I recommend
distilled water because you'll get consistent repeatable results
with that. Foaming soap is always white; the only reason you'll get
some other color is if the soap is over-concentrated. You CANNOT
make foaming soap from a lotion. It will not work. If you try, the
lotion will splatter and sputter.

How do you make foam soap?

You can use regular liquid soap & water to make foaming
soap. You want the mixture to be about 20-30% soap, and 70-80%
water. (I've read different suggestions on how much soap you should
use.)
I've also read you should probably not use moisturizing soap -
it can clog the pump.
You'll need one of those foaming soap pumps in order to make the
soap foam, but you could certainly use an old one after rinsing it
out.

Factors affecting foaming capacity of soap?

If calcium, iron and magnesium compounds are dissolved in the
water, the foaming capability will be greatly restricted.
--Temperature is also a factor. Hot water creates more foam than
cold water.
--Motion of solvent. If water is moving a lot and changing
direction it will cause a great increase in foam

How can you prepare project on foaming capacity of soap solution?

The key to a great presentation is demonstration.
Take your stock Store soap solution as Sample 1, dilute It ten
times and label this Sample [Solution] 2; dilute Sample 2 ten times
and label this Sample 3. Shake or stir each of these for equal Time
intervals and measure the amount of Time it takes for the bubbles
to disperse.
