There are 24 Legendary Pokémon that players can obtain in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

The first one you obtain is one of the Eon dragons, Latios or Latias. After obtaining the first five badges and Surfing across Route 118, you'll find Steven Stone. After a short conversation with him, one of the dragons will appear, Latias if you're playing Omega Ruby, or Latios if you're playing Alpha Sapphire. The dragon will transport you to Southern Island, where you'll find the other dragon waiting deep in the forest. A double battle will commence between an admin of the game's antagonistic Team and their grunt against you and Steven. Winning this battle will result in the dragon you defended (once again, Latios for Omega Ruby, and Latias for Alpha Sapphire) joining your party. No battle, no catching, it simply joins you, requiring you to send one Pokémon in your party back to the PC if necessary to make room for it.

All of the following Pokémon can be defeated in battle, and will reappear at the appointed places once the player has defeated the Elite Four.

In order to obtain the other Eon Dragon, you will need to obtain the Eon Ticket via the StreetPass feature on the 3DS. Once you have done so, show the ticket to Norman, the Petalburg Gym Leader, and you will be able to take a ferry to Southern Island. You will have to battle and catch this one; it is at Level 50 and knows Heal Pulse, Dragon Breath, Psycho Shift, and its signature move (Luster Purge for Latios, Mist Ball for Latias).

The next obtainable Legendary is the version mascot, Groudon for Omega Ruby or Kyogre for Alpha Sapphire. Once you've obtained the first seven badges and awakened the mascot, you can battle it in the depths of the Cave of Origin in its Primal form at level 45. Groudon knows Lava Plume, Earthquake, Rest, and Precipice Blades, and Kyogre knows Body Slam, Aqua Ring, Ice Beam, and Origin Pulse. Defeating the version mascot will create many other opportunities to catch Legendary Pokémon around the Hoenn region.

One can be found in Sea Mauville. First, the player must find the Scanner, which is found in the submerged part of the ship on the eastern side; no indication is given to its exact location in the game, so the player will have to search diligently for it. Once you obtain the Scanner, show it to the scientist on the deck of the ship. He will ask you to deliver it to Captain Stern in Slateport City, and doing so will result in him giving you either a Clear Bell or a Tidal Bell. Return to Sea Mauville with that bell in hand, and you'll be able to challenge one of the Generation II version mascots. If you're playing Omega Ruby, head to the top of one of the ship's rafters, and you'll find a portal that leads to Ho-Oh. It is at Level 50 and knows Sunny Day, Sacred Fire, Fire Blast, and Punishment. If you're playing Alpha Sapphire, head to the submerged part of the ship, and you'll find a portal that leads to Lugia. It is at Level 50 and knows Rain Dance, Aeroblast, Hydro Pump, and Punishment.

Another can be found in the Scorched Slab, the small cave on Route 120. Head towards the basement and you'll find Flannery, the Lavaridge Gym Leader, who will mention that a Legendary Pokémon was supposed to be found there. At the lowest floor, you'll find a portal that leads to Heatran. It is at Level 50 and knows Metal Sound, Crunch, Scary Face, and Lava Plume.

Next is the Regi Trio. In order to unlock their chambers, you will need a Pokémon that can Dig, a Pokémon that can Dive, a Relicanth, and a Wailord. First you must navigate your way through the currents on Route 134 to reach a small area where you can use Dive. Follow the passageway to the Sealed Chamber, where you'll find instructions written in Braille. Dig will open the passageway to the final room in the chamber, and reading the final inscription with Relicanth in the first slot of your party and Wailord in the last slot will open the doors to their chambers.

Regirock is found in the Desert Ruins, found at the southernmost part of the desert on Route 111. Reading the Braille inscription at the back of the chamber will reveal the directions: step right twice, step down twice, and then have a Pokémon use Strength. This will open the door, and Regirock is found within at Level 40. Its moves are Curse, Ancientpower, Iron Defense, and Bulldoze.

Regice is found in the Island Cave, found at the westernmost part of Route 105. Reading the Braille inscription at the back of the chamber will reveal the directions: remain motionless for two minutes. This will open the door, and Regice is found within at Level 40. Its moves are Curse, Ancientpower, Amnesia, and Bulldoze.

Registeel is found in the Ancient Tomb, found at the southwestern part of Route 120. Reading the Braille inscription at the back of the chamber will reveal the directions: have a Pokémon use Fly in the center of the room. This will open the door, and Registeel is found within at Level 40. Its moves are Curse, Ancientpower, Iron Defense, and Amnesia.

The trio leader, Regigigas, is also obtainable in this game, though the method is very convoluted and not many hints are given in the game as to how; a little girl in the northeastern house of Pacifidlog gives a clue to one of the prerequisites, but that's it. You need to have all three of the Regis in your party, Regice must be nicknamed and holding a cold item (Nevermeltice, Snowball, or Casteliacone, the last of which can be purchased from a girl in Apartment 14 of Mauville Hills if you have Regice in your party), and it must be daytime. If all of these conditions are met, Regigigas will appear in the Island Cave at Level 50. Its moves are Foresight, Revenge, Wide Guard, and Zen Headbutt.

Once you defeat the Elite Four, the Delta Episode will begin. Following the course of events that results will eventually lead you to the Sky Pillar, where you will find Rayquaza. This is the only instance in the game where you are required to catch the Pokémon you battle; each time you are defeated or you KO Rayquaza, you will immediately respawn before it without gaining experience. It is at Level 70 and knows Extreme Speed, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Dance, and Fly.

Once you catch Rayquaza, a cutscene will commence wherein Mega Rayquaza destroys the meteor headed towards the planet. From the remnants of the meteor, however, will emerge Deoxys. It is at Level 80 and knows Cosmic Power, Psycho Boost, Recover, and Hyper Beam. If you fail to catch Deoxys, once you beat the Elite Four you can challenge it again on the roof of the Sky Pillar.

The rest of the Legendary Pokémon in the game are found through Mirage Spots, special areas around Hoenn only accessible by flying directly to them by use of the Eon Flute, which you obtain after defeating the version mascot. Each area has different prerequisites to make it appear, and with only two exceptions, a glowing red star signifies its location.

If you have at least 3 Pokémon on your team with maximum happiness, you will find the Nameless Cavern near Sootopolis City. The Lake Trio of Sinnoh dwells within. Each one is at Level 50, and appears at a different time of the day. Uxie can only be found between 20:00 and 20:59 (8:00pm and 8:59pm) and knows Yawn, Amnesia, Future Sight, and Extrasensory; Mesprit appears between 4:00am and 19:59 (7:59pm) and knows Lucky Chant, Charm, Future Sight, and Extrasensory; and Azelf is found between 21:00 (9:00pm) and 3:59am and knows Uproar, Nasty Plot, Future Sight, and Extrasensory.

If you have at least 3 Pokémon on your team with maximum effort values, you will find the Pathless Plain near Pacifidlog Town. The Swords of Justice of Unova dwell within. Each one is at Level 50, and appears on different days of the week. Cobalion can be found on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and knows Swords Dance, Sacred Sword, Retaliate, and Iron Head; Virizion can be found on Mondays and Thursdays and knows Swords Dance, Sacred Sword, Retaliate, and Giga Drain; and Terrakion can be found on Tuesdays and Saturdays and knows Swords Dance, Sacred Sword, Retaliate, and Rock Slide.

If you have at least 1 Pokémon on your team at Level 100, you will find the Fabled Cave near Mauville City. One of the Generation V version mascots dwells within at Level 50: Reshiram in Omega Ruby, which knows Fusion Flare, Extrasensory, Dragon Breath, and Slash; and Zekrom in Alpha Sapphire, which knows Fusion Bolt, Zen Headbutt, Dragon Breath, and Slash.

If you have Lugia or Ho-Oh on your team, you will find the Trackless Forest near Rustboro City. The Legendary Beasts of Johto dwell within. Each one is at Level 50, and appears at a different part of the hour. Raikou appears during the first third of the hour, and knows Spark, Reflect, Crunch, and Thunder Fang; Entei appears during the second third of the hour, and knows Stomp, Flamethrower, Swagger, and Fire Fang; and Suicune appears during the last third of the hour, and knows Aurora Beam, Mist, Mirror Coat, and Ice Fang.

The first exception to the above rule is found if you have the Lake Trio in your party. In that case, you will see a massive tear in the sky above Dewford Town. Approach it, and you will be able to challenge one of the Generation IV version mascots: Dialga in Alpha Sapphire, which knows Aura Sphere, Iron Tail, Flash Cannon, and Roar of Time; and Palkia in Omega Ruby, which knows Aura Sphere, Earth Power, Hydro Pump, and Spacial Rend. Both are at Level 50.

The second exception to the above rule is found if you have a Castform in your party. In that case, you will see a massive storm cloud in the sky above Fortree City. Approach it, and you will be able to challenge one of the Forces of Nature of Unova: Tornadus in Omega Ruby, which knows Extrasensory, Air Slash, Agility, and Crunch; and Thundurus in Alpha Sapphire, which knows Heal Block, Discharge, Agility, and Crunch. Both are at Level 50.

The last one available is purely up to chance. Each day, a different Mirage Spot will appear on an area of the map where you can find rare Pokémon. One such spot appears south of Ever Grande City: the Crescent Isle, where Cresselia dwells. She is at Level 50 and knows Mist, Aurora Beam, Future Sight, and Slash.

If you have access to other Pokémon games, there are 3 more Legendary Pokémon that you can catch.

Landorus, the third member of the Forces of Nature, appears where you caught Tornadus or Thundurus if you have both of them in your party. It is at Level 50 and knows Extrasensory, Swords Dance, Earth Power, and Rock Slide.

Giratina, the third version Mascot of Generation IV, appears where you caught Dialga or Palkia if you have both of them in your party. It is at Level 50 and knows Aura Sphere, Shadow Claw, Hex, and Shadow Force.

If you have both Reshiram and Zekrom in your party, you can find the Gnarled Den near Fallarbor Town. Within dwells Kyurem, the third member of the Tao Trio. It is at Level 50 and knows Glaciate, Scary Face, Dragon Breath, and Slash.
