Just a stab in the dark here! The 'Cream Tea' element reminded me of Devon & Cornwall (Cornish Clotted Cream and all that!) so I'm going to have a guess at 'Devons Road'. Although, as it is a station on the DLR, I may be very wrong!

There is Northwich station by Tesco which is on the Chester - Manchester line. Lostock Gralam and Greenbank stations are either side of Northwich station and may be more convenient depending on where you're trying to get to. Hartford station, located in Hartford which is around 2 miles out of Northwich town centre, provides links to Liverpool and Runcorn as well as to the Midlands. It used to serve London too, but I'm unsure if this is currently the case.
