Sally Hemings is said to have been the half-sister of Jefferson's deceased wife, Martha Wayles Skelton Jefferson. DNA evidence connects the Jefferson line to the Hemings line, but does not conclusively prove that Thomas Jefferson was their father. William Henry Harrison had a child by his slave Dilsia, whose grandson went on to be NAACP president Walter White.
These two are both documented and widely accepted.
There have been other slave ancestors suggested.
It has been suggested that George Washington fathered children by a slave named Venus, but this has not yet been proven by DNA evidence and it has been suggested that the father may be another family member of George Washington's.
John Dungee, a highly educated minister, is reportedly the child of John Tyler and one of his slaves.
Some other slave children have been suggested, but not yet proven.

∙ 14y agoIt seems clear at this point that Thomas Jefferson had one or more children by one of his slaves.
But, there's no way to clearly confirm this through genetic tracking, which has to be achieve through the male genome. Further complicating this, as Jefferson had no other children, comparison samples cannot be taken. The closest sampling is through the descendants of his brother, but this must include the possibility that the genetic line came from the brother, or another branch of the family.
