∙ 11y agoWhile one might think that it's the state of Idaho, the fact is Idaho potatoes don't really make very good chips. That distinction is for certain varieties grown mainly in Michigan, the number one potato chip state. Idaho potatoes are mostly best for processing into frozen products (i.e. french fries, hash browns, "Tater Tots") and eaten fresh, such as in baked potatoes.
