He is known for being honest, and is known as Honest Abe.

Very smart. Read a lot of books. He was a lawyer turned politician. The rail splitting may have been done for the press. He did not like his duty as commander and chief. His wife convinced him to free the slaves. It was an important move for the country. It spoke to the Constitutions' unplanned power. He was ill in his later years and may not have lived out his second term which was crulely halted. He might have lived if his attending doctors had more knowledge of head wounds..

He liked to read and write in his early age.

Lincoln also liked poetry, reading, Plays, sports. animals, and children. His favorite poet was Robert Burns, and his favorite play was Macbeth by his favorite Play Write, William Shakespeare. His favorite book was The Bible.

He liked to wrestle, play handball, and was very physical. He was very fit, limber, and in excellent shape, physically to the day he died.

His love for pets, and animals was displayed by the great lengths he took, at times to rescue animals from adversity. The Lincoln household was a home for the lost and neglected. He loved kittens, in particular. He once fed the family cat "Tabby" with a gold fork, at a White House dinner.

He had an old horse named "Old Bob" who served as the carriage horse, for the Lincolns. Nanny goats, dogs, and even peacocks, were regular members of the family, at the White house.

His love for children extended to his own and all other children. He was adored by the children in Springfield, for his sense of fun and attentiveness. He was generous with extra coins for ice cream and watermelon. He even had a way with the young soldiers in the military. When he would visit various battle sites, he would capture the attention of the youngest soldiers, with a great impression.
