It depends on the brand. Some lipstick contains carmine which is a red pigment made from a tiny insect that lives on cacti in south america. Sometimes by-products of milk and eggs are used. Animal fat almost never makes it into makeup as it goes rancid too easily.
When they test makeup on animals, the most common animals that they test on are usually rabbits, sometimes mice and rats, sometimes dogs, and sometimes cats..... But I believe the most common are Rabbits. They sometimes even use hamsters and Guinea pigs.
I don't think any animals. You just see that stuff in movies. No one out there (especially a business) would do something like that to animals because there is the first reason that we are animals too and we aren't as cruel as every one makes us out to be. Really I have never heard of any animals that have been forced to wear makeup.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding the question, but if you are asking if animal material is used to make make-up, I believe the answer is no (excluding perfumes). However, there are make-ups that are tested on animals.
Dogs, monkeys, cats and mice are the most common animals used for cosmetic expirametnation.
Lipstick and lip gloss is made from whale bladder
Most the reproductive organs of female animals are used in the manufacturing of cosmetics. While some think this is a cruel act to the animals it is usually very profitable to the companies.
Cosmetics are non essential luxuries and animals are being killed and tortured for them. what is more important; the animals' lives or the color of your lips?In Europe they make many cosmetics without torturing and killing animals. One does not need to test unnecessary ingredients on animals; there are enough ingredients that are known to be safe on humans that can be used in the manufacture of cosmetics. An argument can be made that animal testing is necessary to save human lives in the development of medicines. This argument cannot be made for cosmetics.
OK I don't think that M.A.X cosmetics tests on animals. I know that M.A.C cosmetics don't test on animals. MAX factor cosmetics do test on animals. Sorry for my incorrect previous answer. Hope this helps.
Yes, but it depends on the brand. Not all brands test on animals, some brands are even vegan!
