What animals live in Chile?

There are a number of towns in the Atacama Desert, such as Iquique, San Pedro and Arica, Chile, where people live. Some also live in smaller settlements near oasis in some parts of the desert as well as along major highways in Chile and have their water and supplies trucked in. There are a few plants and animals that do live in the Atacama, also.
Beef and poultry are two of the main farm live stocks in Chile. Fishing is a productive industry but fish farms are uncommon. only 5% of the farmland in Chile is arable meaning grazing lands are not turned toward agricultural crops. There is some sheep and goat production but beef is listed as the countries main resource in livestock.
Since I live in Chile, I know a lot of things about the animals here. In some parts of Where I live, you can walk out side and colorfull wild parrots are flying around. There are many alpacas and mountain goats in the Andes also. Chiles national animal is the Huemul, an endemic South American deer, since it is found in only Chile and Argentina. It is endangered.
