I would recommend finding out from a dealership or parts store but it should be regular antifreeze and not extended life. Extended life usually will not work in older vehicles such as yours.

The year 1995 was the final year Chevy offered a diesel engine in the SurburbanThis is not true i have a 1999 2500 Chevy suburban diesel engine and believe that was the last year they offered it.
The chevy 6.2 vortec max package is a gas engine, however Chevy did make a 6.2 diesel engine that was used for military vehicles. The diesel 6.2 is no longer available.

If it's a gasoline engine it takes gasoline. If it's a diesel engine it takes diesel.
