What are Red raised bumps on body that come and go?
This sounds like it could be hives, especially if they itch. Hives will pop up anywhere on the body, itch (quite severely, at times) then go away, then recur on and off. They can vary in size and shape, from small bumps all the way to large raised welts. While some may not itch a lot, for others the itching can be quite intense at times, causing you to want to scratch your skin off!
The cause of hives can be an allergic reaction, or they can be caused from stress, or there may be no obvious cause for them. The good news is they are easily treated, but you need to see a doctor for a diagnosis and prescription. They are not contagious, so you don't have to worry about anyone else in the family catching them.
Just wondering if you ever found out what your bumps could be...I went camping this past weekend and have noticed for 4 days now raised bumps on the back of my arms, looking like chiggar bites or pimples but have absolutely no symptoms of itchiness or pain. Basically they are just there and cant figure out what they are and why they dont seem to be reducing or going away.
I do not have an answer, but I have the same thing. Last night I noticed about 10 miniscule (Sp?) - Tiny, red bumps that did not itch at all. About the diameter of a needle head, on my upper left breast. This morning they are all scabbed over, like someone gently stebbed my skin with the end of a exacto knife... lol.. What the heck ???
Yes, it can cause hives, which can vary in appearance from one person to another. Hives usually come and go, and can be small red dots or bumps, or can be large red welts, but they always itch. When I had them the itch was unbearable! The doctor gave me a prescription for the stress, as well as one for the hives and the itching they caused.
It would depend on what is causing the bumps. Most of the time bumps on the tongue are caused by viral illnesses or by an irritant touching the tongue directly. Without more information, I am not able to refine my answer anymore. If you have red bumps on your tongue, you should go see your doctor to get it checked out and treated.
