Best Answer

An example of an academic strength is the ability to be better at one subject than another. A person might be inclined to have strong math skills but does not understand the concept of literature.

We have many types of writing. One example would be journalism as in media, another technical writing as in your gadget instruction manuals. Strength in one would appear as a deficiency in the other. If you are writing essays for school, you should use colorful descriptive adjectives so as to keep the teacher going. Your opening should be a gripper of sorts, meaning once that first paragraph is read, it would be almost impossible to drop it. You must edit and rewrite. You must hone each sentence so that it enhances your effort. If you have a sentence, that's a problem, even if it took 30 minutes to write, just get rid of it. Edit your work mercilessly. Read it aloud as you come down the home stretch. If it doesn't sound right, fix it. And so on.
