Well there are 4 Animal Crossing games.(3 in America)The first one called animal forest was released in Japan.The 2nd one was dibbed Animal Crossing in America.It was a very popular hit and many people still prefer it today.The 3rd was made to be played on the Nintendo DS and was called Animal Crossing Wild World.It received good ratings as well but didnt beat the first one.Released recently in 2008,Animal Crossing City Folk came out for the Wii.i hope i cleared this up for you

1) Animal Crossing/Animal Forest - GameCube
2) Animal Crossing: Wild World - Nintendo DS
3) Animal Crossing: City Folk/Let's Go To The City - Nintendo Wii
4) Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Nintendo 3DS
You can't play these titles on any other console without modification or emulators.
