First of all, it depends on what age level are you asking about. In America, Brownie Girl Scouts are grades 2 and 3, so they are about ages 7 and 8. Girl Scouts and Girl Guides in other countries may be divided differently.
For example: In Ghana, Brownies are ages 7 to 10. In Norway, Brownie Guides are ages 8 to 10. In Spain, Alita Little Wings are ages 7 to 11.
It also depends on the language used by the Girl Guide/Girl Scout organization in that country.
There is a web page on the WAGGGS web site which links to pages for each WAGGGS member organization. Information about the various levels can be found on those pages.
There really is no different name for leaders of different levels of Girl Scouts, they're all just called "Leaders". In addition: In many countries, the Brownie Girl Guide troop leader is called "Brown Owl" after the Wise Old Owl in "The Brownie Story" who helped the girl find the brownie (herself). Girl Guide leaders are also called "Guiders".
In Italy, Girl Guide members of the Associazione Guide E Scouts Cattolici Italiani (AGESCI) (Association of Catholic Guides and Scouts of Italy), who are ages 8 to 12 are called Coccinella (Ladybird) or Lupetta (Wolf Cub). Girl Scout members of Corpo Nazionale Giovani Esploratori Ed Esploratrici Italiani (CNGEI) (Italian National Association of Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts) who are ages 8 to 12 are called Lupetto Wolf Cub or Brownie.
Lord Baden-Powell first started Brownie Girl Guides in 1914 as the youngest group in the Guides Association. They were originally called Rosebuds, but the name was changed when girls complained that they didn't like their name. In the US, Brownie Girl Scouts were officially recognized in the mid-1920's.
Little Wing (Alita) Girl Scouts or Girl Guides are an age level for Girl Guides or Girl Scouts in the following countries: Paraguay Madagascar El Salvador Ecuador Argentina Spain Republic of Panama Bolivia In addition: If you are looking for the answer to the Brownie Girl Scouts Around the World quiz, the correct answer is Chile. However, Chile no longer calls the age 8 to 11 level Little Wings (Alita). The Asociación de Guías y Scouts de Chile (Association of Guides and Scouts of Chile) now calls the Guide age level 8 to 11, Golondrina or Swallow.
