To understand conscious and subconscious minds we must know what mind is.

We believe that mind is something abstract. However, in fact, it is not!

What is body?

We know that shortening or isotonic contraction of the skeletal muscular system brings about movements. Being present all over the body it has the shape of the body itself and since it is the only system in the body that can be felt and controlled it can be considered as the body itself.

The other systems of the body can't be felt and controlled.

Facilitation and retardation of movements:

We know that shortening or isotonic contraction of the skeletal muscles brings about movements. However, mere shortening of a muscle can't bring about movements. We need power to over come gravitational force and other kinds of opposition to the movement.

The facilitation of, or opposition to, a movement is due to another kind of skeletal muscle contraction called isometric contraction. In Isometric contraction there is no change in length of the muscle and thus on its own it can't bring about any movement.

The Mind:

All the skeletal muscles of the body can contract and relax as a single unit called Unified Skeletal Muscle or USM. The USM can't bring about any movement. However, the facilitation and inhibitions that keep occurring in it can reveal us what exactly the movement that is occurring in the body.

Thus, every real world movement is associated with an invisible isometric movement in the USM.

Thus, we can sit motionless and execute and feel and isometric movements and even the emotions it can generate. This what we call thinking.

Thus, we think with the USM and not with the brain as modern people believe.

The USM is, therefore, what we call mind.

Conscious and subconscious minds:

The USM can be divided into two parts.

1. The part above the navel

2. The part below the navel

1. Conscious mind:

The part of the USM below the navel is called conscious mind because due to the low center of gravity in it retards movements and enables us to feel the thoughts, which are few, distinctly.

1. The low center of gravity of the lower part makes the thoughts remain as thoughts only and therefore they need not have to be monitored with care.

2. Since the thoughts are few and distinct monitoring, if necessary, is easy.

3. They don't produce motor emotions viz. fear and anger because they have lesser chances of becoming actions.

2. Subconscious mind:

The part of the USM above the navel is called subconscious mind because due to the high center of gravity it produces it facilitates movements and makes infinite thoughts look merged with each look vague.

The subconscious mind is more important than the conscious mind because,

1. The thoughts in it have greater chances of becoming actions and thus have to be carefully monitored.

2. Being vague they are more difficult to monitor.

3. Since they have greater chance of becoming actions they often produce motor emotion viz. fear and anger.

Views about the nature of the unconscious mind?

I can explain with example that the subconscious mind is like a godown and all the activities and thoughts done by us are stored in this part of mind. Our nature is based on the things(thoughts) stored in the sub conscious mind. We can say that the mind-set is stored in the unconscious mind which is difficult to control by our conscious mind.
