Do spiders have interenal or external fertilization?

In most instances, both sexes of arthropods occur separately. Males commonly pass sperm to females in sealed packets called spermatophores. The males lay these packets on the ground, and the females later pick them up, or the male deposits them into the female's genital opening. Among crustaceans, millipedes, spiders, mites and some insects, males transfer sperm directly to females. Source: MSN encarta

Do goldfish pick on their tank mates?

Fish of all kinds (including goldfish) will pick on a weak fish if there is one in their vicinity. In general goldfish are peacefull. During spawning season (spring) though, the males will be seen nudging the females in order to get them spawning. So no, they do not normally 'pick on their tank mates'.

How do you tell the difference between male and female anoles?

I own brown anoles and I've done quite a lot of research work on them. You can see it on a website (see related link) and Just click on "Project Anole". So anyways, both the male and female brown anoles have a red flap called a dewlap. The males dewlap is larger than the females, and they use their dewlap to attract mates, warn off predators, and to threaten other males. The females dewlap is very small, but if you pick a female up you can see it. The difference between the males and females dewlap is great. While the males are quarter sized or larger when inflated, the females are smaller then a penny. The males are larger then the females, which is quite common in different lizard species. You can obviously tell the difference when both male and female browns are in sight. The coloring in both sexes are very similar. The lizards can change their coloring from a light brown to a blackish color, so the coloring doesn't help when telling the males and females apart.

How does a chimpanzee attract a mate?

The genitals of the female Chimpanzee balloons into a giant pink swelling during her time of estrus. This is when she is most susceptible to becoming pregnant. The pink coloring and smell of hormones lets potential suitors know that she is receptive. The alpha male usually gets to mate first, followed by those who are aligned with him. Some younger males must mate in secret in order to avoid a fatal beating or exile. Males attract females through a ritual known as "leaf cutting." They will pick a leaf from a branch and run it through their teeth, stripping the membrane from the stem. This creates a noise that will capture the attention of females in estrus. If the initial attempt fails, they will continue to strip leaves until the noise gets the attention of the females. Sometimes males will resort to shaking entire branches of leaves.

What is the meaning of the idiom pick and choose?

It's not an idiom. It means you pick and choose what you want -- pick something out and choose it from a selection.
