What are different branches of Christianity?

A recent survey found that there are over 30,000 varying 'christian' churches or groups worldwide. Some have even referred to this as 'the rainbow coalition of churchianity.'

However, in a global grouping there are: Catholics, Protestants, Orthodox as the larger branches with other smaller Evangelical, Jehovah Witness, and Mormon, and 'charismatic' to name a few.
