Graphic design is seen as a skill in today's world because its creating art on the computer. You need to know how to manipulate and use programs like adobe photoshop, piant shop pro, adobe photo elements and more. The disadvantage is that less and less people are drawing and using more tradition tools like a pencil and paper. This causes people not to be as skilled in traditional artworks as they used to be. Being able to draw and paint are important to graphic design because if you can draw by hand you can easily take your drawn designs and convert them into digital media. Also, with traditional works you are creating the artwork, your not manipulating the computer to create art. In the end of the day graphic design is the artwork that you manipulated the computer to make, and therefore is not as valuable in say ( a museum) as traditional work.
Limitations:
Time consuming - When using hand drawn designs to design a new system, they take a long time to design. This is because the designs need to include fully drawn sketches and text to annotate
Major points may be left out - As there are a lot of things that need to be inputted in hand drawn designs, major or even minor points may be left out which may cause the new system to fail.
Advantages: It is good to plan things out, especially to scale, and to see how things can look compared to a human. Also, on Google SketchUp 8, it gives you the life-size measuring (in feet and inches). You can plan things out to scale.
Disadvantages: Changing from paper to computer can be hard, and it takes a lot of effort. Also, you would usually have to learn a new software, and that takes a lot of effort. You may even need books or manuals on the software! You can't tell whether materials have clashed, or if there is a chemical inbalance. Also, there aren't a wide variety of colours or materials on many software programmes, and it is hard to imagine it. Finally, all the data can be deleted in one click of a button, and it is hard to restore.
Although it may seem that there are more disadvantages than advantages, people would usually use graphic software, as it is more convienient. It doesn't involve drawing, and anyone can use it. I would definitely recommend graphic software; it is easy to use (once you get the hang of it) and much more efficient!
Thanks.
Some benefits are that you get a good salary and also it's a fun and good job for people that like to draw. Also you need to know how to use Photoshop and other design programs.
Advantage is smaller file size and scalability. Disadvantage is that vector graphics can not produce continuous tones images.
Well if he has proof he is a graphic designer like... history of where he worked then sure, but if he doesn't hes most likely a fraud
You can not enlarge bitmap images without losing quality and bitmap images are larger in size then vector.
When you stratch the image bigger or smaller, the image doesnt get blurry or pixelated
Vector graphics refers to a type of graphics that stores color information as well as the paths (curves and shapes) rather than using pixels to store image information (raster graphics). This means that it will retain image quality better than raster graphics, no matter how you scale it (enlarge or shrink) when it comes to designing logos, line art, and other 2D imagery. The most common file type for vector graphics is Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG). In programming, a vector is a scalable array (a type of array that can be resized). For example, strings in C++ would be a vector of characters/bytes.
One advantage of having a graphics tablet is the fact that you will be able to make illustrations easier. One disadvantage to purchasing a graphics tablet is the fact that it is expensive.
Rastor graphics are also called Bitmap graphics, and are generally used with better results in photography. The pixillated form of Rastor graphics is more beneficial to subtle shading as opposed to the straight sharp lines of the Vector graphics.
Difference between a vector and bitmap graphics is that a vector is a format of a drawing whereas bitmap is a format of a photo. * the advantages of a vector is that the drawing can be stretched to any size without ruining the quality and bitmap is faster to display .Bitmap graphics as being stored in a literal fashion, then Vector Graphics, stored representative are their opposites
The file size is normally smaller than raster.

Vector Graphics are made up og lines and curves. A very nice thing about vector graphics is that you can move them around freely, without using detail or it's clarity. Vector graphics are best for artworks such as logos.
Scalable Vector Graphics was created on 2001-09-04.
Asymptote - vector graphics language - was created in 2004.
I think it is vector graphics and raster(bit mapped) graphics
You have to use programs which support vector graphics and raster graphics, so you can save them in what format you would like? ex: Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw you can use...
Raster graphics are stored as pixels, vector graphics are stored as geometric primitives. Images of the latter type can, in principle, be scaled infinitely, and pixelization will not occur.
Vector graphics. Photoshop can work with vector graphics, but Illustrator is ideal.
Vector graphics using the graphics function to record the color, size and other attributes. Zoom in and out of any object, no image distortion and will reduce quality. Nor will it affect the file size. A clear outline of the performance of vector graphics, commonly used in the production of some of the logo graphics.
