Mercury(I) doesn't have metallic bonding. See related link. I'm not sure about other valence ions of mercury. I don't know that having a shiny reflective metallic look is evidence of metallic bonding or not. Somebody please confirm.

Halite is non-metallic. You can tell because any mineral that you can partially see through it is non-metallic . . . metallic are only minerals that look like metal.
The two types of luster are metallic and nonmetallic. There is a an intermediate category known as sub-metallic. Some minerals even look like plastic.
