Although Ireland is a Catholic country and Dublin is its capital, there is no Catholic Cathedral in Dublin.
The name Dublin comes from the two Irish words, Dubh Linn, meaning black pool.
The Irish name for Dublin is Ãth Cliath.
Dubh Linn and Ãth Cliath were two small settlements which grew to be come one place and eventually the modern city of Dublin, with both names surviving.
