It was founded by Thomas Hooker in 1635. It was settled by Puritans from Massachusetts. It had some of the best farm land. And here's my favorite fact; the Fundamental Orders. It was pretty much the constitution for Connecticut and said that no matter what your religion was you still had rights and could vote.
