the book holes by Louis sachar is a really nice book. the book is mostly about this boy name Stanley Yelnats that has to go to this camp name Camp Green Lake that use to be the largest lake in Texas and now it is dried up.But back back then they were tring to find this treasure that is in part of the dried up lake. So the warden wants to make all the people that were sent to camp green lake, has to dig up holes to find the treasure...........
There is a boy named Stanley Yelnats. He is sent to boot camp, when he got arrested for being acused of stealing shoes from a famous Baseball star. They name of the camp is called Green Camp Lake. Even though there is no lake. There was a lake 100 years ago. Then he meets a bunch a kids named X-Ray, Zero,Squid,and Armpit. Then his nickname is Caveman. Every morning they dig holes, like the name. They are not digging holes to build character, the warrden is looking for something. Then one day Stanley finds it! The treasure the warrden was looking was found buried by a woman 100 years ago. Then when Stanley's friend was missing,Zero, Stanley has the the gut to travel 10 miles to go find his friend Zero. Then when he gets back to camp he is released. And his friend Zero came to live with him. Then Stanley Yelnats lives happiley ever after
Stanley yelnats isn't too surprised to find himself at camp green lake, digging holes in the dried up lake bed, day after scorching day. After all his family has a history of bad luck.
The boys at camp green lake must dig one hole each day, five feet deep five feet across.
But what are they digging for? why did green lake dry up? and what do onions and lizards have to do with it all? The answers lie in Stanley's past...
