What are first signs of penis growth?

The first sign that your penis is getting bigger is when it starts to get bigger! So you could measure your erect penis (limp penises vary in length with temperature so their lengths are unreliable) perhaps once a week and you'll quickly notice if it starts to increase in size. Puberty is very variable and different boys can go through different stages of it in different orders. However it is usual for a boy's scrotum and testes to grow early on in puberty. Generally a boy's scrotum will begin to get looser and hang lower to hold his growing testes away from his body (as they produce sperm better at a slightly lower temperature than the rest of the body). When this happens some boys say that their "balls have dropped." For a while a boy will have a bigger, low hanging, scrotum but his penis will still be the same size as it has always been. Don't worry though, you can rest assured that once your scrotum and testes have started to grow your penis will start to grow in length and thickness shortly afterwards.
