the best reason to become a police officer is simply to have the joy of helping people. I mean, ridding the world of criminals is its own reward.
its also a good way to make friends!! there's a lot of officers in training, you'll have a partner, and you simply cant forget the other officers. Although most people wouldn't like this, you can also make friends with the crooks you reel in. Especially if you're a woman. simply recite the following conversation:
"Oh my goodness! I cant believe its you! "
"what? do i know you?"
"don't tell me you don't remember."
*blank look*
"remember, we were sex friends in college? i had you're baby? you seriously don't remember, do you?"
It depends on the department often times you can waive a college degree with prior military expierence. Although it would be good to get at least a 2 year college degree, I would recommend criminal justice. So no you do not have to have a college degree if you have military expierence but if you don't have military expierence you should get a degree. Check with the agency you would like to join for the requirments.
Many people who choose to be police officers is that they want to help society. They want to protect people from harm. They believe that they are there to serve the public. Each person has a different reason for wanting to become a police officer. The reasons mentioned earlier are just some broad generalizations that can bring some understanding as to why people choose to become a police officer.
Mo money,,,mo money,,,mo money ! ! ! Plus, it would get you off the street faster !....BB
In most cities that is not a requirement.
Cops help keep order in the community that they work in and can possibly protect those that need it.
They help people in different ways, both directly and indirectly.
Over a lifetime, a college graduate typically earns much more than someone without a degree
