Its kind of like a Folk Dance that developed into a ballroom dance. however, most 2Step is only used in ballroom for presentations since its so hard to lead in.

There are a few places that offer ballroom dancing lessons in Calgary, Alberta. Three of the most popular places seem to be Alberta Dancesport, University of Calgary Ballroom Dance Club, and Mount Royal University.
