Paleolithic people didn't know how to grow food so they migrated from place to place.
Because they formed bands and searched for food in their home territory. This usually covered about two square miles, or five square kilometers, for every band member. There were campsites at various places throughout the home territory. The band stayed at a campsite until the available food supply was used up and then moved.
The definition on nomads is as follows; Nomads: People who move from place to place following their food source. This would be my best guess.
The life of an early man was, of course, less than the average life span of an average modern man. It was around 20-30 years. Fatalities would be caused by potentials of animal attacks, sickness, and even weather.
Nomads hunted and gathered whatever was around them, since they were always on the move. If they were in the plains, they'd go for the buffalo, and if they were on the coast, they'd fish for some fish and other sea life. They hunted and gathered pretty much everything that was around them, since they were always on the move.

Early man (nomadic hunter gathers) lived in small family groups, whose main concern (occupation) was finding food. Modern man (employed and with a salary) can visit a supermarket and buy as much food as he or she wishes. The difference is huge!
