Composite numbers can be expressed as multiples of other numbers. They are any numbers that are not 1 or a Prime number.

Composite numbers are those that are not prime, meaning that they can be factored as a product of smaller prime numbers. As examples, 6, 10, and 15 are composite numbers because they can be factored into 2x3, 2x5, and 3x5.

2, 3, and 5 are prime numbers and their only factors are themselves and 1.

A composite number is a positive integer that has at least one positive divisor other than one or the number itself. In other words, a composite number is any integer greater than one that is not a prime number.
A composite number is a whole number with more than two factors.
Only two factors, and Prime numbers are more than two.

Number one and zero are special. So we don't use them in either composite or prime. But these are the composite numbers:

A composite number is a natural number (a positive integer) which can be separated into smaller integer factors. For example, the following are integers:

4 = 2 x 2

6 = 2 x 3

15 = 3 x 5

16 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2

etc.

A number greater than one that can NOT be split into smaller integer factors is a prime number. The following numbers are the first prime numbers:

2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, ...

Composite numbers are numbers that are divisible by numbers that are not 1 or itself. For example 8 is a composite number because not only is it divisible by 1 and itself, (8) it is also divisible by 2 and 4. On the other hand, 7 is not divisible by anything other than 1 and itself (7) so it isn't composite.
