What is the personality of the shih-poo?

I have a 7 month old shih poo puppy, she is all black and has a lovely personality but as with every breed there can be different temperament with every dog but over all the breed is so caring and considerate.

Shih Tzus are very loving, playful and are really cute. They can be hard to train because they are a stubborn type of dog. I have a puppy and she's really frisky and playful. But, she bites some times and also tries to eat her poop. So, I guess I have to clean it fast or say a loud NO! Anyway, she matured a bit and licks instead of bites now and is less playful(we thought she had ADHD). She likes to have her belly rubbed and her leg shakes when you hit some spots. My conclusion is that the good things about having a shih tzu is the love, friendship and devotion that you get from them. The bad stuff is having to train them, buy stuff for them (admit it, they're sooo spoilable!), get bit by them and generally be annoyed by their shocking little puppy barks(my doggie does that). I hope this helps you and I hope that you buy a shih tzu. If you can't handle the bad stuff, I advise you to buy a poodle. Male poodles love you a lot, females love the ones who take care of them the most. Trust me, I know. I have two poodles and I think they're afraid of my shih tzu! :D

The shih tzu is a small oriental breed, lovely and mellow personality, not a big barker unless necessary, they are playful but also love to sleep, they say they don't shed but not true when the female is in heat, pregnant, or nursing. They do shed and shed a lot. Spayed females don't, the males don't either, but they require brushing on daily bases. Very affectionate little dogs, but stubborn, good with children and usually get along with other animals. They tear a lot so their eyes must be kept clean, and their hair tied in a topknot to keep it from falling in their eyes. Good quality grain free food helps the white face ones from staining. Some snore due to their flat faces, but it depends on the individual dog, because mine don't snore. All I know is that I have had many different breeds in my life but once you own a shih tzu, you never go back. I am totally in love with my 3 little tzus, they are very addictive. You just can't have only one. :-), I think they put a spell on you and just can't live without them, LOL The imperials are under 9 lbs, and are very heathy, no matter what the standard size breeders say, they come in a variety of colors. And I think they are even cuter. so enjoy your little dog, and before you know it you will want another one.
