Chromosomes that are similar are called homologous chromosomes. Chromosomes that have similar paired genes are called homolegous chromosomes. These copies have the same loci. These loci provide points along each chromosome that enable a pair of chromosomes to align.
chromosomes that Carry the same sets of genes are called
chromosomes is like the city hall. they contain information for construction plans.

in eukaryotes, there is usually a double set of genome (whole genetic information needed to build the organism). The genome is represented by chromosomes. For example, human cells possess 23 chromosomes. But, there are another 23 chromosomes in the cells, called homologous chromosomes. Their genetic information is very similar, nearly the same. The reason why the information is not 100% the same, is that one set of the 23 chromosomes comes from mother's egg and the second set comes from father's spermatozoon.
Homologous Chromosomes
The instruction on chromosomes is called genetic information and is encoded on regions on the chromosome called genes
The nucleus consists of two membranes, one called the NUCLEAR ENVELOPE. The nuclear envelope surrounds the cell's genetic information. This genetic information is contained in structures called CHROMOSOMES. In addition to chromosomes, most nuclei contain a region called the NUCLEOLUS.
Chromosomes exchange genetic information during a process called crossing over. This occurs during meiosis

Between cell divisions, genetic information is in disorganized strands known as chromatin. :)
They may be called several things. They could be called Chromosomes (however these are when the genetic information has been aggregated into bodies (usually resembling an X). It can be called DNA (meaning deoxyribonucleic acid) which is the long strand of information made of up base pairs which resembles a twisted ladder. A small segment of that ladder which produces only one protein may be called a Gene. (from whence we get the term genetics). When DNA is being used to make pieces of the cell and produce stuff in genera, it is transcoded into RNA (Ribonucleic Acid) which is a temporary form of the genetic information which can be taken from the nucleus of the cell where the DNA is stored and turned into protein elsewhere. This form of RNA is known as Messenger (m)RNA. containing genetic information: Chromatin condenses to form chromosomes. These distinct, threadlike structures contain the genetic information or DNA.

Fertilized eggs inherit information through their chromosomes. They receive their chromosomes from their mother and their father. The information is encoded on their DNA.Sperm cell- Contains the genetic information from the male parent (23 chromosomes)Egg cell- Contains genetic information from the female parent (23 chromosomes)The sperm enters the egg and the egg becomes fertilised. The fertilised egg is called a zygote. The zygote has 46 chromosomes, information from both parents.
the chromosomes carry the genes and similarities of parents to the off springs.thus, called heriditary vehicles
