Korea has a LOT of different kinds of food, most very different from other countries. Korea is a peninsula in Asia, which means it's a bit of land sticking out into the ocean near China and Japan. Like most Asian countries, Korean meals involve a lot of rice and noodles. Because they have so much coastline and not much flat land, they have more foods involving fish than foods involving beef. Every meal has a lot of small bowls of side dishes around; veggies and tofu and stuff which you eat in addition to whatever main meal you've got. These are called banchan. A common banchan is kimchi, which is spicy fermented/marinated vegtables - usually cabbage, sometimes cucumber or carrot. sujunggwa (a fruit punch (made of honey, dried persimmons, pine nuts and cinnamon)), sikye (a sweet drink made from fermented rice), bibimbab (boiled rice with assorted mixtures), bulgogi (roast meat;broiled beef(sliced and seasoned)), kimchi, chunggukjang (soup prepared with fermented soybeans), jamche (a mixed dish of vegetables and sliced meat; chop suey) etc.

gimbap and chumukbap are rice, seaweed, and meat/vegetable dishes that are pretty good. Koreans love their samgyeopsal (basically uncured bacon), bokgeumbap (Korean kimchi "spanish" rice).
