reverse stops working manual trans only i think. vacuum leaks mainly from intake duct and breather valve and hose. oil presser sensors go bad. ive seen a few people need to replace the cam shaft sensor (in distributor) and i see alot of people talk about clutch slip, read that the bell housing leaks oil some times, got my clutch replaced and i have no problems with it any more.

You should be able to remove the alternator bracket, on your 1995 Jetta, by removing the three retaining bolts. The bracket should easily come off.
CHF11S type power steering fluid is recommended for the 1995 Volkswagen Jetta. Make sure not to overfill the fluid container.
