Animals should NOT be used for scientific experiment. Just because they cant speak English, french, Japanese, spanish or Italian does not mean they cant feel pain! I just don't get how any human with a conscience could purposely torture any living creature, especially defenseless ones. Picture this, you're a scientist, you've just walked into the lab where your going to test a new cleaning product. You look around. In the room you see little children ranging from 6 months to 5 years of age. Some of them have red, puffy, swollen eyes, others have rashes all over them and some have blisters in their mouths and on their lips!!! Now, if you walked into a lab and saw the same thing happening to animals you probably wouldn't care!! Animals DO feel pain!!! They have brains they can think and they CAN feel pain!! Try this, look into the eyes of your dog, cat, rabbit, horse or whatever animal you may have, what do you see there? Trust. They trust us completely to look after them!! How could you hurt someone or something that trusts you so completely? There is no difference between testing stuff on animals and testing stuff on human children, they will both feel the same pain!! Besides animals have different reactions to stuff than we do. For example, someone did a test on dogs to prove that smoking didnt give you lung cancer. It worked the dogs didnt get lung cancer. Smoking does give humans lung cancer however so that was obviously wrong!!!

It depends on the purpose and the point of view. Some companies use animals to test if their products are safe and some companies use them to try to create drugs that can be life saving.

In my point of view, they should not be used for frivilous intentions such as testing make up. And that the animal should be treated with care and not to be used to test things that are obviously dangerous.

This is an old question that tends to get asked more often in the developed and largely urbanised world where our relationship with animals tends to be more more friendship. The key to this question lays in whether the injury of an animal is more acceptable then that of an animal, We grow and kill animals in order to eat them. many of these creatures lead a miserable existence in their brief lives before they are killed. If we feel that this sort of activity is OK then then the suffering of animals in laboratory experiments is acceptable. On the other hand if we feel that this is wrong then you are morally obliged to deny your children the very drugs that have been tested on animals because it is wrong and one can only lead by example. In the end the decision is in the hands of those that use the products that are tested on animals.

No animals are just as equal as us i mean how would i be if people were used in dangerous science experiments

Nooooooooooooooooo! I am actually doing an English essay on why animal testing should be banned worldwide. I have come up with 4 reasons why: 1)animal testing costs a lot to perform-food, controlled environment, cost of the animal itself, and the cost of the substance that is to be performed/tested on the animal 2)animals and humans are very different so they will react different to different substances-see the question: How are animals and humans different in reference to animal testing 3)animals are torchured-they are blinded, poisoned, killed, etc. 4)there are alternatives to animal testing that don't involve animals-and happen to cost only a fraction of what the cost is of using animals. These are my 4 reasons on why animal testing is WRONG and should be banned worldwide.

but if we ban animal testing worldwide then how would we find out about animals? if animal testing was illegal then we wouldn't know anything about animals except they exist !

One of the main issues in using animals for research is the fact that they are alive and many people feel that they are like us. Another factor is the cost of obtaining the animals.

Is it true that animal testing is a controversial practice in which laboratory animals are used in scientific experiments?

The word "controversial" is arguable, as is the word "scientific" (some of the experiments are definitely scientific, others not so much). Those minor quibbles aside, it's essentially a true statement.
